Initial Results/MCS1 Launch
A series of initial results from the first MCS survey were presented in poster format at the MCS1 Launch Event, as part of ESRC Social Science Week in June 2003.
The guest speaker was Yvette Cooper MP, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State at the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister who, amongst her other duties, is the minister responsible for Social Exclusion.
Other speakers included Professor Neville Butler, who was the driving force behind the setting up of two of the other three National Birth Cohort Studies (NCDS and BCS70), and Professor Heather Joshi, the Director of the Millennium Cohort Study.
