Of the families who took part in the first survey, almost 15,000 agreed to take part again in the second CNC survey when your child was 3 years old. We interviewed you between September 2003 and April 2006 and we also recruited an additional 692 families to the study at the second survey, so the CNC cohort now totals 19,244 families.
The interviews went very well and almost all of you that we got in touch with were happy to take part again. Your children were invited to take part themselves for the first time. Most were happy to play some picture games with us and to be weighed and measured. Many children also gave us a sample of their spit!
The data from the second survey are currently being put together. When they are ready, we will post initial findings on this website. In the next year or two we hope to produce another book documenting the lives of the children of the 21st century from 9 months to 3 years.
