The fourth survey of CNC took place in 2008 when the children were age 7. We were really pleased that almost 14,000 families took part again. Most of the children would have been at school for two years at this stage and we were very keen to see how things had changed for them.
Once again we asked your children to be involved by doing some things with the interviewer and to be weighed and measured. We also asked them to fill in a questionnaire of their own for the first time to see what they thought about different aspects of their lives such as school and friends. In addition we asked them to wear a physical activity monitor for a week during the day, which measured their physical movements - more information here.
We also asked you if we could contact your child’s class teacher to see how they were getting on at school and if you would be happy to post in one or more of your child’s shed milk teeth for a study on lead exposure - more information about the study here.
