Bibliography of research publications based on cohort data
Citations of all historical publications resulting from analyses of cohort data (both by external researchers and those within CLS) can be viewed in our searchable bibliography. There are now almost 2,000 reported findings, of which about 1,400 have abstracts (or full text) directly accessible by hyperlink from this citations database.
A fast search mechanism allows articles to be traced by author, study, journal name or by any individual words in the title or abstract. We are reliant on users informing us of outputs from their research, so although our list is very extensive, it may not be exhaustive.
Internal CLS publications
By entering the library you can view all CLS publications available for download. These include all types of study documentation (Annotated Questionnaires, Guides to Datasets etc.), and also research results published by CLS (e.g. Working Papers, Reports).
They are divided into 24 categories of publication, and listed alphabetically by title within each category.
You can use the general site search box to locate downloads by author or by words in the title.
Key publications
A list of key publications based on findings from the cohort studies is available here, categorised under broad subject headings.
Flagship publications
These are recent publications written and edited by CLS staff which illustrate the latest findings from the three Birth Cohort Studies
CLS Briefings
The aim of CLS Briefings is to provide examples of findings from the three cohort studies. Although the findings they include are not exhaustive, they give an idea of the work that has been carried out and the scope of the studies for future research.
Working Papers
Over the years, many users of NCDS, BCS70 and MCS data have contributed working papers which have been published by CLS.
If you would like to submit a piece of research for possible publication as a CLS Working Paper, consult the guidelines which are outlined here.
