Research Methods Short Course: Data reduction and latent variable models

17th June 2015 to 18th June 2015

Tutor: Professor Dick Wiggins

17-18 June 2015 | £525

This course provides students with an understanding of, and gives them practice in, the use of data reduction techniques and non-regression based analysis methods such as principal component analysis and factor analysis.

It provides a practical understanding of the methods of modelling relationships between latent variables and introduces the basics of structural equation modelling using AMOS.  Students need to be familiar with the content of the courses: Statistical analysis 1 and Statistical analysis 2; in particular, the interpretation of correlation matrices and the principles of multiple regression.
