Sampling design

18th June 2014 to 19th June 2014

Most courses run from 10.00 to 17.00 each day, although some may start at 9.30 or 9.45.

This two day course is for social researchers and analysts looking to learn the principles of survey sampling. Students will acquire an in-depth understanding of the practical considerations to be taken into account with different sampling and weighting methods. Topics covered will include the importance of probability sample designs, stratification, oversampling, clustering and multistage sampling, survey design effects on accuracy of estimation, basic calculations for sample size determination and weighting for differential selection probabilities.
